County Longford, in the heart of the Midlands, lies in the Shannon basin and the upper catchment area of the River Erne. It is ideally located within easy reach of any of the country’s main centres, just over an hour’s drive from Dublin and two hours from Galway.
Longford is the ideal retreat for superb fishing for the pike angler at Lough Ree, Lough Forbes and at the Gowna Lakes. Fishing competitions take place at The River Inny.
